"BATH | Eight members of Savona Central School's Class of 1943 celebrated their 60th reunion recently at the Chat-A-Wyle Restaurant in Bath. The last time the group met was in 1993 at the 50th anniversary of their graduation. Mary Tiffany Strong was the faculty adviser and lives in Adamstown, Md. She was unable to attend. The class graduated at the height of World War II but under her supervision, the class went by train to Buffalo for a few days. Anna Mae Faucett, an elementary teacher, also supervised the class. She now lives in a supervised home. Those in attendance were Anna Bladgett Drehmer of Painted Post; Jean Vogel Booth of Geneseo, Amanda Tapper Hunt of Corning, Harry Makitra and Mary Zyla Hauryski, both of Bath; Marie Soper Berry, Lucille Van Housen Barkley and Winnie Polmanteer Benedict, all of Savona. Unable to attend were Hilda Van Housen Fox of South Bend, Ind. and Arthur Anderson of Haines, Fla. The class is looking for any information on [lost] member Gordon Kaiser. If anyone has information, call a classmate."
