How to Have a Successful Reunion!
The
"Prior Planning Makes an Enjoyable Reunion"
 CHECKLIST
1. PRE-REUNION...

A. Organizing & Planning:

___ Contact classmates in the area to see who will work on the reunion committe(s).
___ Select a meeting place.
___ Prepare a written agenda for each meeting.
___ Meet once a month for 1 year to 6 months prior to the reunion (especially for the biggies... 25 and 50!).
___ Send-out a survey to solicite input from everyone -- WELL IN ADVANCE!     If you need help putting a survey together, take a look at an example from Bulldog.
___ Select one person to receive and compile responses, and another to act as the treasurer, or "money handler".
___ Set the date(s) of the reunion.
___ Determine reunion activities (i.e., mixer, dinner, dancing, picnic, golf, brunch, raffle, scholarship, decorations, music, etc...).
___ Determine where to hold reunion activities. Make reservations as soon as possible.
___ Establish sub-committees to manage activities.
___ Summarize what was accomplished at the end of each meeting, and review "pending items," or unfinished business, at the beginning of the next.
___ Set goals for next meeting, along with long-range objectives (things to be done, by whom -- be VERY specific with dates and times).

B. Communicate:

___ Request a class address listing from the SCS Alumni Group, and check others sources. The SCS Alumni Group s list may not be complete or current!
___ Attempt to locate classmates with missing addresses. Call local people and relatives, advertise in the newspaper, on web sites like the SCS Alumni Website ( http://scsalumni.orgfree.com/ ) and include this list in your Upcoming Reunion write-up -- to be posted on the SCS Alumni "Reunions Page."
___ Compose letter to classmates with all reunion decisions and information; post this information on your class Website, or send to the SCS Alumni Group for listing.
___ Include a deadline date for each individual's "RSVP" reply.
___ Be sure your return address is on the envelope so you will know who did not get the letter.
___ Include a simple reply form that can be completed and returned, postage-paid if possible (Clearly state to whom money is to be sent, and DO NOT send it to the SCS Alumni Group).
___ Include list of accommodations for the area so people can make reservations (you can find some information at the alumni Website... http://scsalumni.orgfree.com/reservations.html ).
___ Send a second letter to those, with correct address, who did not respond to the first.
___ If giving a scholarship grant, set a class goal and request a donation before the reunion.
___ Take photos of the committee working and designate someone to photograph the reunion activities.

3. POST-REUNION...

___ Capture what went "right" and "not-so-right," so you can improve for the next reunion. And, don't forget to list the "financial details": what came-in, what was spent (in detail), what went for a scholarship, and what was left over. This is VERY important information for questions that might come-up later, and for the next reunion! Make sure others know the location of this document, for next time ;-)
___ Send SCS Alumni Group your updated Class information and addresses.
___ Send write-up to SCS Alumni Group for posting on the all-alumni Website.
___ Send photos for posting on your class page, or put them on your own Website.
