e-Update #3 from Bulldog...

Subject: SCS Alumni Website e-Update #3 (sent via e-mail on 1 June 2002)...

"Yes, we're still here... looking for ways to improve Internet communication and contact options for SCS Alumni. Nearly every week, we see between 60 and 80 "hits," or visits, to your Website. We are pleased that people are increasingly able to find our site (as we are now listed with nearly all of the major, and most of the minor, search engines on the Internet), and then return later. Each week, we see three or more new people making a Guest Book entry, posting a Message Board note, or sending their contact information. At last count, at least one person (and in some cases many more) from 32-classes have contacted us -- representing 1/3 of our alumni -- and that's GREAT news.

On the horizon, here's what we are planning:

Constantly reviewing the input provided to make your site what you want it to be!

Will run a series of newspaper (already ran some) and flyer-type ads posted in the local area about our site.

According to our Poll results, we NEED PHOTOS (class photos, various aspects of the school, sports shots, or whatever); scan what you have and send us the files soon... please ;-) In this area, we work only from visitor's submissions!

Always looking for feedback on your site (send an e-mail, or take our online survey at http://scsalumni.orgfree.com/survey1.html ).

Would like "class representatives" to join the fun - those who could help to get information circulated, locate classmates, and assist with other class-specific website issues (see http://scsalumni.orgfree.com/scsrep.html for details).

Searching for a person that would like to be our alumni NEWSLETTER (which we may call "The Bulldog Bulletin") coordinator; already have created a format and a small address database.

At the end of June, we will update our "unofficial" SCS Graduates List. Take a look, the link is on the main page, and send us any updates that you'd like.

Considering the addition of an online calendar -- showing reunion information and more. We currently have one ready for class representatives.

Since the last update in March:

Revamped the main Web page... take a look when you can.

Worked on ways to promote our site (in addition to Internet Search engines); added our "get-the-word-out" Flyer to the main page (check-it out at http://scsalumni.orgfree.com/SCSsite.pdf -- must have ACROBAT READER on your system for this to open).

Received several responses at out latest online Poll; if you haven't taken it, please do... http://scsalumni.orgfree.com/scspoll1.html .

Established a "virtual office" on-line for our all-alumni /class reps., and others with interest.

Created a Class Website "template" (you can see it at... http://scsalumni.orgfree.com/template/index.htm ) so class reps. can get their class Website up & running with minimal trouble; presently the Class of 1983 and 1985 have sites that are now linked. If your class doesn't have a site, half the work is already done for you! We can also set-up a class e-mail address for you... free!

Added a link to the Savona Free Library site.

Sponsored the first group Chat Session... not much interest in this option then, but we'll try again later -- keep checking the Website.

New voice-mail service through Hotvoice.com; our new no. is 732-549-9825 {Account No. 1*232949} -- this number is no longer valid/in-service :-(

With the challenging period of designing our alumni site, promoting it, and getting the word-out mostly behind us, the site now belongs to YOU. If it is to evolve and help people remain in contact, it will be because you want it ;-) Let's hope it does!
